2 Chainz: 2 Good to be T.R.U.

2 Good to be T.R.U. Tour
2 Good to be T.R.U. Tour

There’s more than what meets the eye when it comes to 36 year old Tauheed Epps better known as 2 Chainz. The Atlanta rapper known for hits like “Feds Watchin”, “Riot” and “The Birthday Song” is assumed to simply be the life of the party. Contrary to popular belief, there is so much more to the man behind the club bangers and tall slim frame.

Mr. Chainz has scheduled for December 21st through his T.R.U Foundation, a basketball tournament for kids between the ages 10-13 at north Clayton H.S. Winners will receive the coveted trophy, along with special prizes and an Adidas uniform. Two days after the basketball tournament, his T.R.U Foundation will host their 4th Annual Street Execs Christmas concert at Tabernacle, featuring performances from Travis Porter, Young Dolph, Cap 1, Rich Homie Quan, B.o.B, Young Dro & Trinidad James. The admission is free with a donation of a wrapped gift, and all gifts will be dontated to Kandi Cares, the T.R.U Foundation, Toys for Tots and seven families adopted by Street Execs, and its clients.

Yesterday, December 16th, 2 Chainz released a video via Vevo for “U Da Realist”, and announced his 2 Good to be T.R.U Tour  with Pusha T, August Alsina & Cap 1. The tour starts February 4th, 2014 in Boston, and will make stops in LA, DC, Seattle and NY. When asked about the tour he quoted Niccolo Machiavelli, author of The Prince “Everyone sees what you appear to be, few experience what you really are.”

Addicted to Chinx Drugz: Couldn’t Give a…

Hit Ssingle, "Feelings", off EP "I'll Take it From Here"
Hit Ssingle, “Feelings”, off EP “I’ll Take it From Here”

As we creep into 2014, we must take time to acknowledge the wave caused by Coke Boys artist, Chinx Drugz, dropping his latest single in the pot; “Feelings.” Chinx keeps you bouncing with his suave and confident rhyme scheme, as well as lyrical content that puts you in the mind of a conqueror. This single is just one of many hot tracks off his EP, “I’ll Take it From Here”, that was released via iTunes, on November 26, 2013.

To add to the star effect already in place, French Montana blazes the second verse in a way only befitting of a Bad Boy artist; with a verse “kick off” similar to that of Notorious B.I.G., on the hit single “Notorious Thugz”, which was featured on the 2nd and final studio album by the American hip hop legend.

This is definitely a track requiring all haters to get their bread up, drop the top in a blizzard, let the snow in, then ask themselves; “who gives a fu** about your feelings?”

Suffering from Success: DJ Khaled Season

We the Best Music Group
We the Best Music Group

Entertainment philanthropist DJ Khaled released his 7th studio album, Suffering From Success, on October 22, 2013, moving 27,000 units the 1st week. I must say that the “We the Best” mogul has got a niche for finding needles in haystacks.

The album is comprised of 14 masterfully selected hit singles, including “You Don’t Want These Problems”, featuring French Montana, Rick Ross, Ace Hood, 2 Chainz, Big Sean, and Timberland.

This album definitely embodies luxury and success, and deserves to be played with the top peeled off in Miami, FL.

Care Package 2: The Evolution

Care Package 2: The Evolution
Care Package 2: The Evolution

Maybach Music’s best kept secret, R&B crooner Omarion, is back on the scene with Care Package 2; the second installment to his “Care Package” series. The 1st installment dropped last year. The 9 track project was made available via download November 5th, 2013.
Featuring collaborations with Nipsey Hussle, Audio Push, & Casey Veggies, Care Package 2 boasts “trap beats”, and gives R&B and Rap fans a chance to enjoy an album in the same sitting. Through the mixtape, Omarion to gives fans a personal insight into the man he’s become since his split with B2K.
With songs such as “Still Love Her”, his presentation reminds me of the drill scene in Chicago. “Know You Better” featuring Nipsey Hussle, leaves the ladies with plenty to hold them over until his 2014 release of his debut album under MMG entitled Love & Other Drugs.
When asked about the significance of the title, he stated in an interview with The Fader, “The infatuation, the euphoric feeling of liking someone. A woman inspiring you to act differently & feel differently-it’s similar to a drug.” We all look forward to this release, and thank “O” for something to make babies to in the meantime.
